Married with two children, Ahmet Şahap ÜNLÜ was born in Melikanlı/Gaziantep Turkey in 1944.
Mother Ayse Hanim is from Güllühöyük Village who is the daughter of Sheikh Mehmet Ağa   chieftain of Belikanli Tribe. Father Mehmet Selahattin Bey is from Melikanli village who is the son of Mirsamzade Mustafa Aga the Chieftain of Delikanli Tribe. His father was the first Members of the Parliament from DP Democrat Party (1950-1960 for Gaziantep) Ahmet sahap unlu is the nephew of Suleyman Unlu Who served as a deputy of AP Justice Party in Parliament from Gaziantep during (1961-1969)

He started Primary School at TED Ankara College and Graduated from TED-Ankara College High Scholl. He studied agricultural Engineering at Fredrich Wilhelm University Bonn / Germany and completed his education at Ankara University Agricultural Engineering and received diploma as Agricultural Engineer (MSc)

Work Experience (Employment)
His career started at Güney Doğu Tarım Satış Kooperatifleri Birliği ( South Eastern Agricultural Products Sales Union) as a Representative in Foreign Countries in 1972.

During 1975 – 1982 he did farming at his family owned farm in Melikanlı Village. He continued working at Mirbey International Logistics Company in Ankara for a while as share holder manager.

During 1983 – 1994 he worked at the reputable Zihni Group of Companies for Foreign Trade and Shipping as :

East and South easthern Regional Manager.
Regional Manager for Ankara territory .
Board member and general manager of various companies of the group.
He served as Deputy Chairman during the last four years in the Group

Since 1994 he has established his own ship-building, maintenance , repair and Foreign Trade Company.

Social, Economic & Organizational Work Experience

Ahmet Şahap ÜNLÜ is one of the most reputable persons who has the capacity of establishing good relationships with both national and international political, social and economic leaders.

Ahmet Şahap ÜNLÜ represented Turkey in many Bilateral Trade Agreements, negotiations and forums. His most important achievement is opening of “Turkish – USSR Sarp Frontier.” (border gate)
After dissolution of USSR this border is serving as the main entrance and exit door to Georgia and a transit way to entire Asia .

He has participated in several TV Programs about logistics and foreign trade in Turkey and abroud. His reports about these matters has been published.

The personal endeavor of Ahmet Şahap ÜNLÜ for providing the logistics and transportation services from Iskenderun and Mersin during the war in Middle East between Iran – Irak in 1980’ies has been acknowledged and appreciated by the logistic sector and their personnel.

Ahmet Şahap ÜNLÜ served as consultant to the following companies:

On May 25, 2024, Ahmet Şahap Ünlü was awarded the RESPECT FOR MASTERS Honor Award with the blessings of our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for his outstanding services and works to our country

Fluent in Spanish, Russian, Arabic and Kurdish.

Political Experience

In 1995 Election, he was the parliamentary candidate from YDH New Democracy Movement Party from Gaziantep. Although he gained the second highest vote, as the votes across the country,could not reach the necessary percentage, he could not become Member of Parliament. Taking into consideration of the strong public desire and appreciation in 2007 election he was a candidate for Member of Parliament from the DP Democrat Party in Gaziantep. Due to the insufficient percentage of general votes gained by the Democrat Party too had not given him the  chance to be a member of the Parliament.

He is an active member of TED Ankara Kolejliler association which represents the TED Ankara College Basketball Team playing in first League of Turkey .
